Privately owned and entrepreneur-led, the firm is in an exciting growth phase and recently implemented NetSuite to modernize its accounting systems and reporting.<br/>This is a newly created, stand-alone Accounting Manager role supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate and construction entities. The position offers the autonomy to build structure, improve processes, and contribute to shaping the finance function as the company scales.<br/>It’s an ideal opportunity for a CPA (or candidate pursuing designation) currently at the Senior Accountant level in a related-industry who’s ready for a step up, enjoys a hands-on environment, and wants to grow into managing a small team over time.</p><p>Reporting directly to the <b>Director of Operations</b>, the Accounting Manager will oversee the full accounting cycle across multiple construction and property entities. You’ll collaborate closely with project teams, site managers, and ownership to deliver accurate financials, enhance controls, and provide insights that support decision-making.</p>
<p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b><br/>• Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple real estate development, construction, and rental entities<br/>• Oversee general ledger, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting<br/>• Handle job costing: cost codes, progress/draw billing, change orders, and variance tracking<br/>• Develop and monitor project budgets, purchase orders, and cost controls<br/>• Prepare cost-to-complete and budget vs. actual reports for management<br/>• Manage HST filings and ensure correct tax treatment across municipalities<br/>• Maintain property-level ledgers, rent rolls, CAM/TMI reconciliations, and vacancy tracking<br/>• Integrate and reconcile field-level data (pay apps, timesheets, POs, change orders)<br/>• Support continued implementation and optimization of <b>NetSuite</b> for process efficiency and reporting accuracy</p> <p>TMGMS</p> <p><p><b>Job Requirements:</b></p></p> <p>• CPA designation (or currently pursuing)<br/>• 5–8+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience<br/>• Strong background in <b>residential construction/homebuilding and rental property management</b> (multi-entity)<br/>• Advanced <b>NetSuite</b> experience preferred (saved searches, workflows, intercompany, consolidations, job costing modules)<br/>• Expertise in <b>job costing, project budgets, purchase order controls, and variance analysis</b><br/>• Solid knowledge of Canadian tax and compliance (HST, CCA, capitalization of borrowing costs)<br/>• Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to present clearly to leadership and external partners<br/>• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and calm under shifting priorities </p> Apply
