If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you. </p><p>The Accounting Manager will work in conjunction with the Regional Controller to undertake and manage the financial and administration affairs of the assigned regions/company in accordance with Corporate Policy.</p><p>Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Prepare salary recovery worksheets and other cost transfer forms and post</li><li>Post journal entries, perform bank reconciliations and reconcile required general ledger accounts as required</li><li>Assist operations with updates to jobs (i.e. productivity, change orders, cost codes)</li><li>Perform month end process related to jobs (i.e. closeouts, profit recognition, unbilled work orders) and update of accounting wip reports</li><li>Assist operations with preparation of any ad hoc reports related to job performance</li><li>Resolve any vendor payment disputes</li><li>Assist with collection of accounts receivable when required</li><li>Plan, organize and undertake the period close process including preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.</li><li>Ensure conformity with internal accounting policies and business processes as well as compliance with established internal controls, including approval requirements with a keen eye toward cost control and accuracy</li><li>Support ongoing business planning and quarterly forecasting processes as well as annual strategic planning exercise</li><li>Ensure integrity of financial data and systems and adherence to Corporate reporting timelines</li><li>Ensure management of general ledger</li><li>Participation in annual external audit</li><li>Complete and review month-end reconciliations and budget variance analyses</li><li>Manage cash flow and other company assets</li><li>Provide financial recommendations and ideas when new business initiatives are proposed</li></ul><p><br /></p><ul></ul><p><strong>COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Change Orientation</li><li>Communicates Effectively </li><li>Continuous Learning</li><li>Customer Focus</li><li>Holds Self and Others Accountable</li><li>Problem Solving and Innovation </li><li>Teamwork and Collaboration</li><li>Values and Respects Others</li><li>Maximizes Business Performance and Team Effectiveness</li><li>Strategic Perspective</li><li>Minimum of a diploma in Business Administration Accounting or a degree in Finance </li><li>CPA designation a requirement</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p><strong>WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of 5 years&#39; experience in an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller/Sr. Financial Analyst position </li><li>Prior experience in a construction or engineering company preferred </li></ul><p><strong>SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS </strong></p><ul><li>Strong analytical skills with proficiency with advanced Excel skills</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal</li><li>Advanced Excel knowledge and systems aptitude</li><li>Knowledge of JDE Edwards or comparable ERP system preferred</li></ul><p>Black & McDonald welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
