The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>-Please note that this is a seasonal position. </strong></p><p><strong>-Lay-offs are done at the end of season. </strong></p><p><strong>-Employee benefits can be maintained during the lay-off period. </strong></p><p><strong>-Recall letters are typically provided a few months before the de-icing operations begin.</strong></p><p><strong>-Wage increases typically occur a month after returning from seasonal lay-off. </strong></p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):</strong></p><p>• Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and </p><p>procedures are being followed correctly</p><p>• Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines </p><p> and IDS including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination</p><p>• Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing</p><p> equipment with fuel or glycol)</p><p>• Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have</p><p>been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are</p><p> followed</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p><p>• Must be at least 18 years old</p><p>• High school diploma or equivalent preferred</p><p>• Intermediate computer skills</p><p>• Maintain and treat all information as confidential</p><p>• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English</p><p>• Must be able to verbally direct in English</p><p>• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives</p><p>• Successful completion of all IDS classroom and on-the-job de-/anti-icing training</p><p>• Must be able to speak and hear efficiently</p><p>• A valid driver’s license is required for this position</p><p>• Successful completion of the airport badging or background check process required for this location.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><p><strong>The Inland Group of Companies </strong>maintains a drug-free workplace and, as such, all candidates and employees can expect to participate in our drug testing program. Prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.</p><p><br /></p><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><p>• Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and work at heights in excess of </p><p>15 ft to perform role, repairs, or inspections</p><p>• Must be able to speak, hear efficiently to supplement other senses in maximizing situational awareness </p><p>in safety sensitive environments</p><p>• Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms</p><p>• Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, </p><p>depth perception and the ability to adjust focus</p><p>• May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and</p><p>weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and</p><p> safety procedures</p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
