Job Description
<p>We are seeking experienced and reliable individuals for the role of Class 1 Driver - (primarily gravel truck, bin truck, end dump truck, and walking floor truck). Also includes Health Care Benefits and eligible for Company GRSP.</p><p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: </p><ul><li>Deliver various materials to customers and/or construction sites while operating a gravel truck - highway and city road driving., while representing Milner Group in a positive, professional manner</li><li>Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections</li><li>Maintain daily logs as required, perform trip inspection on equipment operated and loaded to ensure safety and road worthiness</li><li>Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers hours, and occupational health & safety</li><li>Operate equipment in a manner as not to cause damage to the equipment or any surrounding structures or impediments and to do so safely to ensure the safety of themselves and others onsite</li><li>Loading, securing and transporting various types of materials</li><li>Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues</li><li>Comply with Milner Groups safe working procedures and practices</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES: </p><ul><li>A Valid Class 1 Drivers License with air endorsement</li><li>Clean drivers abstract</li><li>Slinger truck experience an asset</li><li>2 years experience operating a Truck locally on Vancouver Island</li><li>Experience with truck and pup preferred</li><li>Ability to competently load material into truck using heavy equipment preferred</li><li>Ability to drive manual transmissions preferred.</li><li>The ability to communicate effectively with customers and dispatch in a professional and respectful manner.</li><li>Ability to safely secure cargo using straps, chains, manual tarps, or other appropriate methods</li><li>Pride of ownership in providing quality results and service</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse group of professionals</li><li>Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines</li><li>Physical stamina to handle the demands of loading and unloading cargo</li><li>Ability to push, pull, lift up to 23kg (50lbs)</li><li>Ability to climb and descend from truck</li><li>Ability to sit for extended periods</li><li>Weekend availability</li></ul><p>Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change.</p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
