<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $44.54 - $54.52<br /><p>Summary:<br /></p><p>The Clinical Counsellor will provide assessment, counselling, referral, and follow up to adult individuals who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health and/or substance use concerns, and related challenges.</p><p><br><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Provide counselling to individuals and families in managing current risks and crisis and to increase their effectiveness in dealing with future concerns and/or challenges.</li></ul><ul><li>Working collaboratively with the persons served to provide case management and risk assessment, goal setting, planning, counselling, closure and where appropriate, follow up.</li><li>Acting as case manager, to work with the person(s) served to <span >coordinate/collaborate</span> with other service providers and stakeholders.</li><li>Maintaining appropriate and timely documentation, client information system and tracking systems.</li><li>For those who participate in the Internship Program, providing instruction, regular supervision of assigned interns, ensuring the Interns adherence to agency policy and practices.</li><li>Participating in regular quality assurance reviews, case and team <span >consultation/supervision</span> and meetings as required.</li><li>Participating in program development.</li><li>Liaising and referral with community agencies, committees, professionals.</li><li>Participate in and support agency activities, vision, mission and values.</li><li>Ensure that work practices comply with agency health and safety standards, program policies and procedures and administrative records are complete, timely and accurate.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications Required:</p><ul><li>A graduate degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related field.</li><li>One (1) year counselling experience specifically with adult, substance use and mental health issues.</li></ul><p></p><p>Other Skills & Abilities:</p><ul><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Knowledgeable about solution focused counselling theories and practices, risk assessment and case management.</li><li>Knowledge and experience with group education, skill building, counselling, and support techniques.</li><li>Have the ability to work respectfully and in partnership with other team members, including referring authorities.</li><li>Have basic computer and Internet skills</li></ul><p></p><p>Other Job requirements:</p><ul><li>Criminal records check clearance, including vulnerable sector clearance.</li><li>Follow the Code of Ethics and the Mission Statement of SHARE Family & Community Services.</li><li>The counsellor must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate clients, sessions, and groups, meet outside of typical office hours, and deal with crises.</li><li>Some driving is required to attend meetings and to enable contact with youth/families at home or in the community. The counsellor must have a valid driver&#39;s license and safe, reliable transportation, and must obtain appropriate insurance as per Society policy.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Post Closing date - December 18, 2025</p><p><br /></p><p>Location: Port Coquitlam</p><p>Hours: 35 hours per week, to be scheduled in consultation with supervisor.
