Position Summary

In accordance with the vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Director, HIM leads a team responsible for delivering Health Information Management (HIM) to the organization. This includes functions such as registration, release of information, records management and processing, health informatics and information management (HIIM) services, and business process redesign. The Director leads changes as needed to ensure that HIM functions support integrated care and high-quality service delivery. Key responsibilities also include leading complex projects, quality improvement initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing contractual arrangements related to HIM services. This role is a health informatics leader, advancing healthcare transformation within a framework of people, processes, and technology to improve healthcare services.

Starting salary will be approximately from $116,591 to $145,739, based on education, training, experience, and comparable positions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health information science or a related discipline plus 7-10 years of progressively responsible health information management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing leaders and implementing organizational change.
  • Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) is an asset.
