This role is designed for a new or recent HSE graduate whos ready to get out in the field, learn from experienced mentors, and grow with an innovative company that has a clear development path and long-term plans for you.</p><p>About the Role</p><p>Youve just finished (or are close to finishing) your safety or environmental program and you want more than a desk job. As our Field HSE Advisor, youll launch your career in the field, working side-by-side with crews on remediation, reclamation, demolition, and civil earthworks projects.</p><p>If you are looking for a role to develop your career in Health & Safety, this could be the role for you. You will build a deep understanding of how the site work we do, gets done through structured on-the-job field experience, and progressively grow into a trusted Field HSE Advisor who leads safety activities and partners with operations to keep people safe and projects moving.</p><p>If you enjoy hands-on work and want to see the direct impact of what you do, this role is built for you.</p><p>Why this Role Is a Great Fit for a New Grad</p><ul><li>Field-first learning: Spend your first months embedded with project teams observing how jobs are planned, how equipment is used, and what real safety looks like on changing sites, not just in a manual.</li><li>A clear path for learning: Follow a structured roadmap that shows how you move from new grad to fully functioning Field HSE Advisor, with milestones you can see and discuss.</li><li>Real responsibility early: As you grow, youll help lead toolbox talks, inspections, and incident follow-ups that directly affect crew safety and performance.</li><li>Serious variety: Work across different project types and locations, gaining experience with different teams, conditions, and client expectations.</li><li>Built-in mentorship: Get regular coaching and feedback from the HSE Manager and experienced supervisors who want you to succeed and will invest in your growth.</li></ul><p>What Youll Do</p><p>Begin Your Journey: Become immersed and Learn the Work<br /></p><p>Be on site regularly, collaborating with crews and supervisors to understand daily operations and workflows.</p><ul><li>Observe equipment in use and how it is operated safely and efficiently in real conditions.</li><li>Participate in daily toolbox talks and FLHAs/JSAs, building your understanding of hazards, controls, and risk management.</li><li>Complete company onboarding and required safety training (e.g., orientation, WHMIS, First Aid, CSTS).</li><li>Support basic site activities as appropriate (e.g., organizing materials, assisting with simple field tasks) to stay connected to the work and build trust with the team.</li></ul><p>Grow: Step Into the Field Advisor Role</p><ul><li>Become a visible safety presence on site modeling safe behaviours and supporting daily safety routines.</li><li>Co-lead toolbox talks, FLHAs/JSAs, and pre-job meetings with the support of supervisors and the HSE Manager.</li><li>Assist with inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas, documenting findings clearly in our HSE systems.</li><li>Help gather information for incident and near-miss reports and participate in root-cause discussions.</li><li>Provide practical, respectful coaching to crew members to help integrate safety into everyday work and planning.</li></ul><p>Advancement: Operate as a Field HSE Advisor</p><ul><li>Lead safety meetings, FLHAs/JSAs, and focused safety conversations on assigned projects.</li><li>Plan and execute routine site inspections, track trends, and communicate findings to supervisors and the HSE Manager.</li><li>Support implementation of HSE campaigns, initiatives, and client requirements at the site level.</li><li>Provide field-driven feedback to help refine HSE procedures, checklists, and tools so they work in practice, not just on paper.</li><li>Build strong relationships with supervisors, operators, and field staff so youre seen as a partner in getting work done safely, not just an auditor.</li></ul><p>Who You Are:</p><p>Education & Experience</p><ul><li>Recent or soon to be graduate from Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Construction Management, or a related program; or you bring an equivalent blend of education and experience.</li><li>You are genuinely interested in building a long-term HSE career within environmental construction work.</li></ul><p>Skills & Attributes</p><ul><li>Strong communicator who can build trust with field teams and is comfortable asking questions and speaking up.</li><li>Curious, observant, and able to connect what you learned in school with what you see in the field.</li><li>Organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on accurate, timely documentation.</li><li>Able to balance people-focus with practical, common-sense solutions.</li><li>Comfortable with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams);
