You’ll work in a supportive environment that values collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning.<br><br><b>Role Summary:</b><br />The <strong>Forklift Operator/Team Lead (Part-Time)</strong> is responsible to the loading, unloading and storing of customer freight in a safe and efficient manner. This role is also responsible for optimizing daily sortation, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, resolving service issues, and supporting continuous improvement and compliance across logistics functions.<br><br><b>Hours of Work: </b>Monday to Friday, 4:00am-9:00am (20 hours/week)<br /><strong>Work Arrangement: </strong>On-Site<br /><strong>Position Type: </strong>Non-Union<br /><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Part-Time<br /><strong>Compensation: </strong>$22.00/hour<br /><strong>Work Location & Environment: </strong>1000 Logistics Unit 5, Ottawa, ON. <span >Warehouse/distribution</span> center environment.<br><br><b>Key Accountabilities:</b><br />In this role, you will:<br /><strong>Forklift Operator:</strong></p><ul><li>Operate a forklift to safely load and unload freight from trucks</li><li>Confirm that inbound freight is receive by either scanning the product or completing inbound forms</li><li>Verify the packing labels for accuracy of product being shipped</li><li>Report any damaged freight or quality concerns to the Facility Supervisor</li><li>Meet all efficiency requirements as determined by the SOP and the Terminal Manager</li></ul><p><strong>Team Lead:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee daily sortation and dispatch operations to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of shipments.</li><li>Lead and manage sortation associates and delivery drivers to maintain high performance standards.</li><li>Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce compliance with safety protocols.</li><li>Monitor and manage sorter labor hours to maintain Parcels Per Hour (PPH) targets and optimize operational efficiency.</li><li>Strategically optimize route assignments based on demand, vehicle capacity, and performance metrics.</li><li>Track delivery progress, proactively address service issues, and resolve customer complaints.</li><li>Manage return shipments, cancellations, and resolve delivery discrepancies effectively.</li><li>Ensure strict adherence to company policies and regulatory compliance standards.</li><li>Prepare and submit comprehensive dispatch, wash, and End-of-shift reports to senior management.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with transportation, customer service, and inventory teams to enhance operational workflows.</li><li>Provide operational support to the Terminal Manager and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.</li><li>Performs other duties as required</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b><br />We’re looking for someone who brings:<br><br><b>Education & Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Diploma, or certificate in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related trade, with 2+ years of operations supervision experience.</li><li>Forklift license</li><li>1 to 2 years as propane forklift driver</li></ul><p><br /><b>Skills & Attributes:</b></p><ul><li>Experience in transportation is a plus</li><li>Strong attention to detail. </li><li>Good time management skills </li><li>Creative and effective problem-solving ability</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)</li><li>Skilled in word processing and email management</li><li>Comfortable navigating MS Windows operating system</li><li>Proficiency with logistics systems and reporting</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p><ul><li>Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Shift work includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends.</li><li>Follow safety protocols and use PPE</li></ul><p><br /><b>How To Apply:</b><br />If you’re interested in joining our team, please submit your application through our online career portal.
