Canada Gold is a national precious metals recycling company looking to hire a full-time Gemologist to work at our Surrey office. We also sell one of a kind preowned jewellery online through our sister company100ways.com.

Embark on an exciting journey as a Gemologist, where your expertise in gemstones an jewellery will shine brightly! In this dynamic role you will be the key to identifying, evaluating, and authenticating precious stones. Your keen eye and passion for gemstones will help provide exceptional service to clients who are seeking expert advice.
We are seeking a candidate who is personable, friendly, and exhibits excellent customer service while identifying the characteristics of various gemstones.
Key responsibilities:
- Examine and analyze gemstones to determine authenticity, quality, and characteristics.
- Maintain detailed records of gemstone evaluations, including photographs and grading reports.
- Work from our Surrey office to evaluate and purchase gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.
- Support a variety of in-store transactions, including the buying and selling of bullion and fine jewellery.
- Prepare clear, professional grading cards for diamonds and gemstones offered through our online channels.
- Photograph and list fine jewellery for sale on our Shopify e-commerce platform, ensuring high visual and content standards.
- Serve as a trusted, client-facing expert for a portion of the role, delivering exceptional customer service and building confidence through knowledge and professionalism.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new gemstone discoveries, and advancements in gemological technology.
- Educate customers and team members about gemstone properties, care tips, and value factors to enhance their understanding and appreciation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate Gemologist (GG) designation or GIA-accredited Gemologist certification, with the ability to confidently grade both diamonds and coloured gemstones.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or customer servicefocused role, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- 13+ years of experience within the jewellery industry, demonstrating hands-on knowledge of fine jewellery, gemstones, and industry best practices.
Additional Information & Requirements
- We are currently seeking a candidate available to work five (5) days per week.
- This position is full-time and on-site at our Surrey location. Only candidates currently located in Surrey will be considered.
