We deliver safe, high-quality, and efficient solutions across industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects while advancing Indigenous participation, partnerships, and long-term economic development.</p><p><br></p><p>Position Summary</p><p>The <b>General Manager - Concrete</b> is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall <b>strategic, operational, and financial performance</b> of Forward Concept Construction's Concrete division. This position will drive business growth, client development, Indigenous partnerships, and project excellence across multiple concurrent projects.</p><p>Reporting directly to the <b>Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)</b>, the General Manager will work closely with executive leadership and provide <b>weekly reporting to the CEO and CFO</b> on project performance, analytics, earned vs. burned values, and cashflow projections.</p><p>This role requires a hands-on leader with strong industry relationships, deep project controls expertise, and the ability to execute work safely, profitably, and at scale.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Relations</p><ul><li>Drive growth of the Concrete division through existing relationships and new client development</li><li>Leverage industry contacts to secure new work in oil & gas, industrial, and infrastructure sectors</li><li>Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships</li><li>Support proposal development, bid strategy, and pricing in collaboration with the CCO</li></ul><p>Indigenous Partnerships & Engagement</p><ul><li>Develop and strengthen <b>Indigenous partnerships</b>, joint ventures, and subcontracting relationships</li><li>Support Forward Concept's commitment to Indigenous participation, employment, and capacity building</li><li>Represent the company with Indigenous organizations, communities, and industry stakeholders</li></ul><p>Estimating & Pre-Construction</p><ul><li>Oversee and support concrete estimating, budgeting, and bid reviews</li><li>Ensure accurate labor, material, equipment, and indirect cost estimates</li><li>Assess project risk, constructability, and execution strategies prior to award</li></ul><p>Project Controls & Planning</p><ul><li>Lead <b>full workface planning</b>, scheduling, and resource loading across multiple projects</li><li>Implement and maintain strong project controls, cost tracking, and forecasting processes</li><li>Evaluate <b>earned value vs. burned value</b>, productivity metrics, and schedule performance</li><li>Identify trends, risks, and opportunities early and implement corrective actions</li></ul><p>Project Execution</p><ul><li>Provide leadership and oversight to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams</li><li>Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards</li><li>Support change management processes including scope changes, claims, and change orders</li><li>Ensure compliance with client requirements, contracts, and regulatory standards</li></ul><p>Financial Management & Reporting</p><ul><li>Maintain full P&L responsibility for the Concrete division</li><li>Prepare and deliver <b>weekly executive reports</b> to the CEO and CFO, including:</li><li>Project analytics and performance dashboards</li><li>Cashflow projections across multiple projects</li><li>Earned vs. burned value analysis</li><li>Risk and opportunity assessments</li><li>Work closely with Finance to manage invoicing, collections, and working capital</li></ul><p>Leadership & Team Development</p><ul><li>Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project and operations teams</li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement</li><li>Support workforce planning, succession development, and performance management</li></ul><p>Qualifications & Experience</p><ul><li>10+ years of progressive leadership experience in <b>concrete construction</b>, preferably within oil & gas or industrial services</li><li>Proven experience driving business growth and managing client relationships</li><li>Strong background in <b>estimating, project controls, scheduling, and cost management</b></li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and large budgets simultaneously</li><li>Experience evaluating earned value, productivity, and financial performance</li><li>Knowledge of Indigenous partnerships, joint ventures, or Indigenous procurement programs is a strong asset</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills</li></ul><p>Technical Skills</p><ul><li>Estimating and cost control systems</li><li>Workface planning and construction scheduling</li><li>Earned Value Management (EVM)</li><li>Change management and claims support</li><li>Financial forecasting and cashflow analysis</li><li>Strong proficiency with project management and reporting tools</li></ul><p>Why Join Forward Concept Construction Ltd.</p><ul><li>We are a <b>Métis Indigenous Woman-owned and operated company</b> making a meaningful impact</li><li>Senior leadership role with direct influence on company growth and strategy</li><li>Opportunity to build and scale a high-performing Concrete division</li><li>Collaborative executive team and entrepreneurial environment</li></ul>Create Your Resume First
