This crucial role ensures we have the right mix of new and pre-owned vehicles at the right time, optimizing turnover, profitability, and customer satisfaction.</p><br /><p><strong>Role & Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li> Acquisition and Procurement:</li><li> Monitor market trends and sales data to determine optimal inventory levels and model mix for both new and used vehicles.</li><li> Source and purchase used vehicles through auctions, trade-ins, and other channels, negotiating favourable prices and terms.</li><li> Manage new vehicle allocations and ordering with manufacturer representatives.</li><li> Inventory Control and Valuation:</li><li> Establish and maintain accurate cost of goods sold (COGS) and pricing strategies across the inventory.</li><li> Conduct regular physical and system audits to ensure the accuracy of vehicle records, including location, condition, and documentation.</li><li> Oversee the reconditioning process for used vehicles, ensuring vehicles are promptly and cost-effectively prepared for sale while managing vendors (e.g., detailers, service technicians).</li></ul><p><strong>Pricing and Marketing Support:</strong></p><ul><li> Work closely with the Sales and Internet Managers to set competitive, market-driven pricing that maximizes gross profit and turnover.</li><li> Ensure all vehicle information, photos, and descriptions are accurately uploaded to the dealer management system (DMS) and online platforms promptly.</li><li> Performance Analysis:</li><li> Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Days Supply of Inventory (DSI), turn rates, and gross profit per unit (GPU) to identify slow-moving stock and make data-driven adjustments to inventory strategies.</li><li>Prepare and present regular inventory performance reports to senior management.</li></ul><strong><br /></strong><p><strong>Qualifications and Skills </strong></p><ul><li> Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as an Inventory Manager, Used Car Manager, or similar role in the automotive industry.</li><li> Deep understanding of vehicle appraisal, valuation tools (e.g., VMR, Black Book), and auction platforms.</li><li> Proficiency with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) (e.g., CDK, Dealertrack) and inventory management software.</li><li> Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.</li><li> Strong negotiation, organizational, and time management abilities</li></ul><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>Commission Payment:</strong></p><br /><p>As an Independent Contractor, you will be paid a variable commission payment plan. Provided you hit your targets, our Inventory Manager can earn between <strong>$60,000 and</strong><strong> $72,000 annually.</strong> As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for setting up your own Sole Proprietorship and registering for a GST number. After which, you are responsible for paying your yearly taxes as a Sole Proprietorship (or Corporation, if you so choose).
