Certified Group provides analytical testing and regulatory guidance services in the food & beverage, dietary supplements & NHP, cosmetics, OTC, personal care, tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, and hemp industries. </p><p>We have embarked on an important journey to unify and strengthen our culture by living these core values: Start with the Customer, Drive to Deliver, Commit to Safety and Quality, and Believe in the Team — including believing in you.</p><p></p><p><strong>We are seeking a full-time Lab Instrument Calibration Tech 1in our Kitchener location.</strong></p><p></p><p>This position provides the opportunity to work for a growing company, achieve professional growth within the organization and cross-train in a variety of analytical chemistry techniques.</p><p></p><p>Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Lab Instrument Calibration Tech 1 will be responsible for the routine testing of client supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures, generation, interpretation and management of analytical data and troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instruments.</p><p></p><p><strong>Skills required but not limited to:</strong></p><p></p>As an Instrumentation Technician you will: <ul><li><ul><li>Repair of all smoking machines and peripherals in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations.</li><li>Monitor and adjust the Controlled Environment Rooms (CERs) using chamber control program.</li><li>Schedule maintenance and verification of sample generation related equipment and instruments (e.g. Puff Volume Meters, oil pumps, etc.).</li><li>Address repair requests from supervisors and technicians via internal ticketing system for instruments and smoking machines (Puff Volume Meters, Puff engines, pumps, shakers, etc.).</li><li>Write and review standard operation procedures such as Calibration, Verification & Maintenance (CVMs) or Quality Standard Forms (QSFs).</li><li>Commission and de-commission equipment and instruments.</li><li>Manage the inventory of supplies and instruments specific to smoking machines and CER’s.</li><li> As requested, design and modify smoking machines or equipment, to meet analytical needs.</li><li>Assist Supervisor with various requests (e.g. building or modifying equipment)</li><li>Maintain accurate records and logs.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.<br /></li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Qualification Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li><ul><li>BSc in Chemistry or technology</li><li>Experience with HPLC, GC, ICP or LC instrumentation</li><li>Working knowledge of GMP and/or ISO17025 guidelines</li><li>Minimum 1-3 years laboratory experience</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Work Environment and Physical Demand:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li><ul><li>Requires light physical effort.
