<b>Legal Assistant – Litigation<br></b><br>
Support litigation lawyers at a renowned law firm in a stimulating, structured, and supportive environment. This is a permanent position based in Montreal, offering a hybrid work model, competitive salary, and excellent benefits from day one.<br>

<b>Responsibilities:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• Draft correspondence, prepare and revise legal documents.<br>
<br>• Manage deadlines, schedule meetings and appointments, and maintain lawyers' calendars.<br>
<br>• Organize lawyers' travel arrangements and bookings.<br>
<br>• Review and proofread documents for grammar, formatting, and compliance with legal and firm branding requirements.<br>
<br>• Manage files and documents using various storage and archiving platforms (Closing Folders, Sharefile, virtual data rooms, etc.).<br>
<br>• Assist lawyers with business development projects and maintain the professional relationships database.<br>
<br>• Process data (time entries, expenses) and open new files.<br><br>• Liaise with clients, colleagues, internal departments (including the Business Centre), and external parties.<br>
<br>• Follow up on billing in collaboration with billing coordinators.<br>
<br>• Transcribe dictations, audio notes, and recordings.<br>
<br>• Participate in the onboarding of new team members.<br>
<br>
Litigation-Specific Tasks:<br><br>• Finalize court documents for service and filing, as needed.<br>
<br>• Communicate and coordinate with bailiffs and court representatives.<br>
<br>• Monitor deadlines related to legal proceedings.<br>
<br>• Participate in swearing-in activities, if required.<br>
<br>• Perform any other related administrative tasks.<br>
<br>
<b>What you will need to succeed:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Legal Secretarial Studies or a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Office Technology.<br>
<br>• DEC in Paralegal Technology is an asset.<br>
<br>• 2+ years of relevant experience, including in a professional services firm.<br>
<br>• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures in Quebec is an asset.<br>
<br>• Familiarity with proceedings in the Federal Court, the Tax Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada is an asset.<br>
<br>• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.<br>
<br>• Team spirit, organizational skills, and attention to detail.<br>
<br>• Ability to show initiative, motivation, and anticipate needs.<br>
<br>• Ability to manage priorities and work under tight deadlines.<br>
<br>• Discretion, critical thinking, and sound judgment.<br>
<br>• Bilingual in English and French to support clients in both languages.<br>
<br>
