We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.</p><h2>About Us</h2><br><p>The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><br><p>As a LIFT Social Media and Events Ambassador, you will play a key role in promoting LIFT's presence on campus and online. This dynamic position blends digital engagement with on-the-ground outreach to support LIFT's events, initiatives, and overall visibility.</p><ul><li>Maintain LIFT's online presence across social media platforms</li><li>Create and share engaging content to promote upcoming events, highlight student achievements, and showcase community partners</li><li>Regularly update digital platforms with current event information and organizational highlights</li><li>Collaborate with the Experiential Learning Coordinator to identify optimal event timing, venues, and target audiences</li><li>Maintain and manage a comprehensive event calendar</li><li>Assist with planning and logistics for LIFT events, including Orientation Week</li><li>Attend classes and visit residence halls to promote LIFT events and encourage student involvement</li><li>Coordinate with campus groups, including Sophs and Dons, to raise awareness and support for events</li><li>Build relationships with other student organizations and participate in events like volunteer fairs and promo booths</li><li>Assist the Experiential Learning Coordinator with other related projects and tasks as needed</li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Must be a full time student at Western (enrolled in minimum 3.5 courses), and expect to retain full-time student status for the duration of this appointment;</li><li>1 year of part time employment or volunteer experience</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Experience using social media platforms to promote events or initiatives</li><li>Comfortable speaking to groups and, planning and promoting events</li><li>Team-oriented with a collaborative attitude</li><li>Familiarity with LIFT's mission and student community</li></ul><h2>Why Western?</h2><br><p>Western offers a broad and exciting variety of part-time and temporary employment opportunities with ample room for job exploration and growth.
