# Your Role
As Manager of Ruminant Nutrition, you will oversee nutritional management strategies for ruminant livestock to optimize health, productivity, and profitability. This leadership role combines technical expertise, research and development, and people management. You’ll guide feed programs, provide technical support, and lead a small team of nutritionists.
# Day to Day
- Oversee the development of innovative feed strategies, ration formulations, and forage quality assessments.
- Manage the Ruminant R&D team including project planning, budgeting, and reporting on trial results.
- Support SR&ED claim preparation and ensure timely project execution.
- Offer technical expertise for feed quality, formulation, and mill operations.
- Support sales through farm visits, tools, templates, and ration formulation programs (AMTS/NDS/FBM).
- Deliver training, workshops, presentations, and technical bulletins for sales staff.
- Represent New-Life Mills on industry boards, at conferences, and events.
- Analyze performance data, feed line trends, and product strategies to drive improvements.
- Supervise and mentor a team of ruminant nutritionists (1–2 direct reports).
- Provide career development, training, recruitment, and performance management support.
# Required Qualifications
- MSc or PhD in Animal Science, Nutrition, or Bioscience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ruminant nutrition.
- At least 2 years of leadership or staff management experience.
- Ability to travel independently to mills, farms, and industry events.
- Strong knowledge of the ruminant industry and nutrition trends.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and business acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ration formulation programs (AMTS/NDS).
