The following are some (but not all) of the requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:</p><ul><li>Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada</li><li>Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)</li><li>Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years</li><li>If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check</li></ul><h3>The Impact You’ll Make in this Role</h3><p>In this role you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing improvements in processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that support the organization's strategic goals.</p><p>As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the company. Here, you will make an impact by:</p><ul><li>Working directly with all teams on improvement projects, running/leading Kaizen events, increasing employee engagement and continuous improvement</li><li>Leveraging a wide range of improvement techniques, approaches, and methods to develop and implement solutions for a variety of complex issues and operational and financial improvement objectives</li><li>Developing & improving existing data tools to support the ongoing efforts to identify and control yield, labour productivity, cost, and uptime</li><li>Applying analytical skills for analysis and interpretation of trends or data for the purpose of improving target operational and/or financial objectives</li><li>Process Analysis: Evaluate current processes to identify areas for improvement using data analysis and process mapping techniques.</li><li>Project Management: Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.</li><li>Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to understand their needs and challenges, facilitating workshops and meetings to brainstorm solutions.</li><li>Implementation: Develop and implement solutions that streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve quality and productivity.</li><li>Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and make adjustments as necessary.</li><li>Training: Provide training and support to staff on new processes and systems to ensure successful adoption and sustainability.</li><li>Reporting: Prepare and present reports on project progress, outcomes, and benefits to stakeholders and management.</li></ul><h3>Your Skills and Expertise</h3><p>To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution</li><li>Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, process improvement, and project management in a private, public, government or military environment</li></ul><p>Additional qualifications and competencies that could help you succeed even further in this role include:</p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Engineering</li><li>Practical experience with implementation and sustaining of CI Programs</li><li>Engineering focus in the areas of TPM, Operational Excellence, DMAIC, and Lean tools</li><li>Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and make decisions</li><li>Strong computer skills – Microsoft Suite and MiniTab</li><li>Six Sigma Greenbelt certified – Blackbelt a plus</li><li>Detail-Oriented: an ability to focus on details and ensure accuracy in analysis and implementation.</li><li>Innovative Thinking: an ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to complex problems.</li><li>Team Player: an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.</li></ul><h3>Work location</h3><ul><li><b>Brockville, Canada</b></li></ul><p><b>Travel:</b> May include up to 10% domestic/international</p><p><b>Relocation:</b> Not offered</p><h3>What We Offer</h3><ul><li>Comprehensive Benefit Plan, RSP plan, Stock Purchase Plan, Incentive Plan, and Defined Contribution Pension Plan</li><li>Paid time off over the winter holidays</li><li>Health & Wellness subsidies</li><li>Individual Development Plan and Tuition Reimbursement Program</li></ul><p>3M Canada welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
