We are looking for a clinician with experience supporting <strong><strong>children and adolescents</strong></strong> through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.</p><p> </p><p>At ATS, we provide innovative and personalized therapy services to people of all ages across Canada, working with both Southern clients in the <strong><strong>Dundas and surrounding areas</strong></strong> and a significant clientele stemming from contracts with <strong><strong>Indigenous communities across Ontario, Nunavut, and Quebec</strong></strong>. Additionally, clinicians are encouraged to participate in trips to the communities they work with to facilitate a stronger connection with the child, family, and community.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></strong></p><p>As a Registered Mental Health - Art Therapist, you will:</p><ul><li>Provide <strong><strong>assessment and treatment</strong></strong> to individuals of all ages who present with a broad range of psychological and/or social difficulties.</li><li>Work with clients <strong><strong>virtually</strong></strong>—in remote Indigenous communities using virtual care technology.</li><li>Work with clients in the <strong><strong>Dundas, Ontario office and surrounding areas</strong></strong>.</li><li><strong><strong>Travel to Northern First Nations Communities is required</strong></strong> (up to 10% of the role annually, with trip durations up to one week) to facilitate a stronger client and community connection.</li><li><strong><strong>Coordinate with other clinicians</strong></strong> from other disciplines (Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, etc.) to provide a strong continuum of care.</li><li>Provide support which promotes <strong><strong>mental wellness, child growth and development, healthy parent-child relations, and positive child-school dynamics</strong></strong>.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong><strong>Qualifications</strong></strong></p><p> </p><p><strong><strong>The "Must-Haves"</strong></strong></p><ul><li>In <strong><strong>good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario</strong></strong> (Registered).</li><li><ul><li><em><em>Note: Qualified and experienced social workers (with specialization in Psychotherapy) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers are also welcome to apply.</em></em></li></ul></li><li>Able to <strong><strong>travel to remote and rural Indigenous Communities</strong></strong> across Canada.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong><strong>The "Nice-to-Haves"</strong></strong></p><ul><li>Experience and specialized skills to work with children, youth, and adults who experience, or are affected by, but not limited to: <strong><strong>Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Loss, Separation and/or Divorce, Self-Harm, and Suicidal Ideation</strong></strong>.</li><li>Experience working with individuals, and <strong><strong>engaging caregivers</strong></strong> in treatment both in-clinic and remotely.</li><li>Skilled in completing <strong><strong>formal and informal assessments</strong></strong>, and identifying person-centered treatment goals.</li><li>Experience <strong><strong>tailoring intervention plans</strong></strong> to each client and varying use of <strong><strong>directive methods</strong></strong> (e.g., artmaking prompts) and <strong><strong>non-directive methods</strong></strong> (e.g., unprompted artmaking and play therapy) in response to client needs/goals.</li><li><strong><strong>Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people, history, intergenerational trauma, culture, health priorities and social issues impacting mental health.</strong></strong></li><li>Able to <strong><strong>adapt assessment and treatment approach</strong></strong> to the needs of clients, including clients of diverse cultural backgrounds and across various settings (e.g., online).</li><li>Able to work well as part of a <strong><strong>cross-disciplinary team</strong></strong> which includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Occupation Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Behaviour Therapists.</li><li>Possess the <strong><strong>flexibility and time-management skills</strong></strong> necessary to manage an ever-changing caseload, demonstrating strong problem solving and creativity.</li><li><strong><strong>Strong computer skills</strong></strong> and familiarity with video conference software (e.g., Zoom), Canva, and the Microsoft Office ecosystem (e.g., TEAMS, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong><strong>Before Starting With Us</strong></strong></p><p>As our work involves direct contact with youth and vulnerable persons, the successful candidate must complete or obtain the following <strong><strong>before the commencement of their employment</strong></strong>:</p><ul><li>A <strong><strong>Vulnerable Sector police check</strong></strong>.
