About the Project

The Connect 6ix project is a consortium-led contract responsible for delivering the Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) package for the Ontario Line — a new 15.6 km rapid transit subway running across Toronto. This includes the trains, signaling, communications systems, and the operations and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate and maintain the line for 30 years. https://connect6ix.ca/


About the Job

We are hiring an MEP Superintendent to step into a new role for our team on the RSSOM project . This position reports to the General Superintendent.


What You Will Be Doing?

  • Directly supervise, lead and manage subcontractors and site staff responsible for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing elements on the project.
  • Ensure works compliance with approved construction documents, specifications, contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with other construction disciplines (civil, structural, architectural) to ensure alignment, sequence and schedule.
  • Provide daily field leadership to ensure productivity, sequence, schedule and constructability of the MEP works.
  • Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors across multiple work fronts.
  • Develop and manage MEP look-ahead schedules aligned with the Construction Project Schedule.
  • Enforce project Health and Safety policies and compliance of local regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture consistent with project principles.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety walks, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and verification activities with Quality and Commissioning teams.
  • Ensure proper completion of deficiency lists and readiness for system turnover.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, site walks, and progress reviews with project stakeholders’ representatives.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication consistent with all project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updates for MEP activities.
  • Support change management by identifying scope impacts, risks, and delays related to MEP works.


What We Are Looking For?

  • 5–8 years of MEP supervisory experience on large-scale infrastructure, transit, or institutional construction projects.
  • Proven experience managing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, medium and low-voltage trades in the field.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP coordination, and interface management.
  • Solid knowledge of Ontario codes, safety legislation, and quality systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Assets

  • Experience on infrastructure or ICI projects.
  • Trade background in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, systems integration, and handover of complex MEP systems.
  • Experience with project management and field tools (MS Project, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and basic MS Office).
  • Gold Seal Superintendent designation or equivalent.
  • Experience in P3, Alliance, or Design-Build delivery models.

Compensation

Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $100,000-$150,000. The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependent on the specific project to which you are assigned.
