We&#39;re seeking a Mobile Building Operator who will be responsible for both building maintenance and landscaping duties, with approximately <strong>70% of the role focused on landscaping work at a shooting range in Hamilton during the summer months (AprilNovember)</strong>.</p><p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Landscaping Duties (AprilNovember)</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Grass Cutting:</strong> Mow all designated grassy areas regularly to maintain a neat appearance; edge along sidewalks, curbs, and structures as needed.</li><li><strong>Fence Line Maintenance:</strong> Trim vegetation along fence lines to prevent overgrowth; remove debris or obstructions near fences.</li><li><strong>Tree and Shrub Care:</strong> Trim trees and shrubs to maintain clear sightlines and prevent interference with range operations; remove dead or hazardous branches promptly.</li><li><strong>Ground Cleanup:</strong> Collect and dispose of fallen branches, leaves, and other debris; maintain clear access paths for vehicles and personnel.</li></ul><p><strong>Winter Duties (DecemberMarch)</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Snow Plowing:</strong> Plow all access roads, parking lots, and operational areas promptly after snowfall; ensure safe passage for vehicles and emergency access.</li><li><strong>Salting and De-Icing:</strong> Apply salt or other de-icing agents to roads, walkways, and high-traffic areas; monitor conditions and reapply as necessary.</li><li><strong>Snow Removal from Critical Areas:</strong> Clear snow from entrances, gates, and emergency exits; maintain visibility of signage and safety markers.</li></ul><p><strong>General Building Maintenance</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct routine property and site inspections and perform maintenance as required.</li><li>Complete preventive/demand maintenance tasks (chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, belt replacement, lubrications, cleaning of utility rooms, maintenance of fire prevention systems, testing and inspecting equipment).</li><li>Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, life safety systems, etc.</li><li>Monitor electrical power distribution systems and building automation systems; respond to alarms expeditiously and methodically.</li><li>Perform minor repairs: replace washers/faucets; clear sinks, toilets, and drains; replace pumps/motors; reset breakers, etc.</li><li>Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.</li></ul><p><strong>Competency Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Change Orientation</li><li>Communicates Effectively</li><li>Continuous Learning</li><li>Customer Focus</li><li>Holds Self and Others Accountable</li><li>Problem Solving and Innovation</li><li>Teamwork and Collaboration</li><li>Values and Respects Others</li><li>Maximizes Business Performance and Team Effectiveness</li></ul><p><strong>Education & Experience Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, and BAS.</li><li>35 years&#39; facilities maintenance and operations experience.</li><li>Previous landscaping experience is an asset.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) safely and efficiently.</li><li>Excellent customer service skills to ensure client requests are handled professionally and promptly.</li><li>Must be able to work in varying outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and/or at heights.</li><li>Physical ability for bending and lifting (under 30kg).</li><li>Valid G driver&#39;s license required.</li><li>Must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance (includes a 5-year background check).</li></ul><p>Black & McDonald welcomes and encourages applications from persons with disabilities.
