**Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our team. This role involves setting up and operating rotogravure printing presses to produce high-quality designs on flexible plastic film. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in printing operations and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Ensure compliance with all company policies, including safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Review job specifications and previous run data to determine machine settings and material needs.
Mix inks to specified colors and prepare ink pans.
Set up printing press and initiate operations.
Monitor press performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
Meet or exceed standards for line speed, scrap rates, and setup times.
Load and unload roll stock efficiently.
Inspect printed materials for defects and ensure alignment and clarity.
Maintain and clean press components including cylinders and doctor blades.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure product standards are met.
Accurately complete documentation and enter data into the system.
Manage press clean-up and hazardous waste handling.
Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
**Qualifications:**
3u20135 years of experience operating printing equipment with flexible materials.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Physically capable of heavy lifting.
Forklift license is considered an asset.
