Overview

The Distribution Strategy and Innovation team for Digital and Personal Distribution is helping RBC Transform for the Future by reimagining how RBC acquires, engages, and services clients, while driving scaled productivity improvements across our network. This role supports strategy development and builds and analyzes data models to advance our channel economics function, navigating ambiguous concepts and creating financial and data models to support the distribution target state. You will work with partners across Digital and Personal Distribution, Mega-Journeys, Lines of Business, and other horizontal leads across Personal Banking.

What will you do?

  • Structure disparate sets of quantitative and qualitative data into a clear story that communicates insights and informs trade-off decisions for senior leadership
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly in various formats, including PowerPoint
  • Build financial models to analyze and understand P&CB’s channel economics, including drivers of the current cost-base and productivity opportunities to inform investment in business cases and Distribution PARs
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the current cost-base and productivity opportunities to build strong business cases and develop Distribution PARs for funding requests
  • Conduct ad hoc and deep-dive analyses (descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive) to understand anomalies in client behaviours or business performance impacting initiative outcomes
  • Support the Digital and Personal Distribution quarterly business review process

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in business or a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering)
  • Strategic thinking capabilities, including the ability to clarify ambiguous concepts, structure logical arguments, and think in first principles
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively in various formats, including PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and financial modelling skills
  • Independent, self-directed self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Tableau and comfortable working with large and complex data sets
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timelines

Nice-to-have

  • Passion for client-first thinking and re-imagining opportunities, with humility to understand the complexities of the business
  • Team-first mentality and willingness to contribute to large-scale change
  • Experience with relational databases and/or unstructured or semi-structured data
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data Lake and performing data discovery
