The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Senior Process Safety Engineer on a permanent basis for our Process Safety team in Regina, SK.
We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead and advance our Process Safety Management (PSM) and Operational Excellence programs. What you'll do :
- Lead the sustainment and continual improvement of CRC's Incident and Investigation Management program, supporting our PSM and Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS), ensuring compliance with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Health Safety and Environment teams, Technical Services, Major Projects, Process Operations, and Maintenance to ensure timely, thorough response, reporting, investigation, and communication of events and near misses, incorporating human and operational performance principles.
- Train and maintain competencies as a lead investigator, utilizing various root cause methodologies.
- Develop and communicate lessons learned from internal and external events.
- Support the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of incident metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze incident trends, causation factors, and the effectiveness of recommendations.
- Participate in and support other PSM programs such as process hazard analysis, management of change, pre-start-up safety reviews, and procedural compliance. Support OEMS elements like Emergency and Security Management and Regulatory Compliance.
- Plan and conduct OEMS and PSM audits, assurance reviews, and self-verifications. Identify gaps, evaluate effectiveness, and develop improvement plans to reduce operational risks.

Who you are :
- You have at least 8 years of experience in industrial operations, process maintenance, or engineering design, preferably in refining or petrochemical operations.
- You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering and are a registered professional (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- You are experienced in developing, implementing, and improving Process Safety and Operational Excellence Management Systems, especially incident investigation and analysis.
- You have demonstrated incident investigation skills and proficiency with various root cause analysis methods.
