The Specialty Operator performs a variety of tasks while working outside in variable conditions. The position requires the successful candidate to be detail orientated and physically fit with the ability to complete manual labour tasks. A minimum Class 5 license is required.
Job Overview and Responsibilities
- Safely and skillfully operate a variety of heavy mobile equipment such as dozers, loaders and track hoes to excavate, grade and move material
- Completing pre and post trip inspections as required
- Minor truck and equipment maintenance
- Understand grades and slopes in relation to the job
- Excavating
- Backfilling
- Clean up sites
- Occasional labour work
- Comply with safe working procedures and practices
- Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May November)
- Other duties as required
