<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Uses a breadth and depth of engineering skills to develop solutions to complex problems within time, cost and quality constraints.</li>
<li>Supports the technical proposal and bid efforts.</li>
<li>Defines and manages system and subsystem requirements.</li>
<li>Manages trade studies to evaluate different potential design solutions.</li>
<li>Leads the System Design, through functional and non-functional analysis.</li>
<li>Defines the Integration, Verification and Validation strategy and manages this throughout the program.</li>
<li>Defines, manages and contributes to work packages for assigned projects.</li>
<li>Remains current on trends and emerging technologies, tools, safety, environmental protection and compliance.</li>
<li>Plays a leading role in technical / design reviews and risk management.</li>
<li>Acts as the Project Engineer or Senior Design Authority if nominated.</li>
<li>Actively contributes to the digital transformation of the business and seeks avenues for continuous improvement within the field.</li>
<li>Champion for change, not afraid to challenge methods or the status quo.</li>
<li>Mentoring and coaching others to support staff development and retention goals.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Role Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Detailed knowledge of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and formal processes and methodologies - preferably in the defense sector.</li>
<li>Experience across the whole project lifecycle from bid through to in-service support.</li>
<li>Experience communicating and interfacing with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management and external customers.</li>
<li>Develops and manages KPIs to measure and improve performance of work activities.</li>
<li>Required to maintain a security clearance.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications / Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Degree level (or equivalent experience) in the Systems Engineering or closely related discipline.</li>
<li>Has achieved 12+ years of experience in the Systems Engineering field - ideally within the naval defense sector or a highly complex engineering environment.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Use of standard office tools and proven experience with tools such as DOORS, UML tools, ERPs and other Configuration Management tools.</li>
<li>Desirable: experience with sonar systems and naval deployment, operation, integration and safety systems.</li>
<li>Desirable: working knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: safety systems, supportability, EMI / EMC or cyber.</li>
