UI / UX Developer Power BI & Power Apps

Bring Generative AI to life through data-driven UX design in this hybrid Toronto-based contract role. Use Power BI, Power Apps, and user-centered design to create intuitive dashboards and interfaces tailored for business leaders, developers, and end users in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop three distinct user dashboards:
  • End User Dashboard: Task-focused intuitive interface for interacting with AI outputs.
  • Leader Dashboard: Aggregated insights and performance metrics for executive review.
  • Developer Dashboard: Real-time monitoring tools for usage, system performance, and feedback.
• Build and integrate applications using Power BI (DAX data modeling, custom visuals) and Power Apps (Canvas apps, workflows, connectors).
• Translate business and technical requirements into intuitive UI workflows and visual designs.
• Integrate AI/ML outputs including structured and unstructured data into usable formats.
• Ensure user interfaces are responsive, accessible, and perform well across multiple devices.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align on user experience goals.
• Conduct usability testing and iterate based on feedback.
• Implement role-based access and security protocols.
• Maintain documentation and support internal user training.

What you will need to succeed

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX development within enterprise or data-driven environments.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI including DAX data modeling and custom visuals.
• Advanced experience with Power Apps including Canvas apps, automation and connector integration.
• Experience integrating AI/ML outputs (structured and unstructured data) into dashboards or applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as Azure Dataverse, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive UI practices.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with front-end development languages (e.g., JavaScript) is a plus.
• Prior experience with Generative AI or AI-focused projects is an advantage.
