We are seeking organized, disciplined, self-motivated, proactive, team driven individuals to join our Water Resources Team in <strong>Markham or Oakville.</strong> This is a full-time position.</p><p></p><p><strong>As a Water Resources Designer, you&#39;re responsibilities will be:</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Preparation of design calculations for sewer capacities, storm drainage, low-impact development measures, inlet and outlet structures, overland flow, etc.;</li><li>Assistance with the preparation of design briefs, functional servicing reports and maintenance manuals;</li><li>Assistance with hydraulic and hydrologic modelling exercises including pond modelling, watershed modelling, channel modelling, sewer modelling, and water balance calculations;</li><li>Provision of AutoCAD support where required including delineation of drainage areas, floodplains and various measurements;</li><li>Preparation of cost estimates, fee proposals and other estimates;</li><li>On-going review of opportunities to improve project efficiencies;</li><li>Staying up to date with policy, guidelines, and new technologies;</li><li>Attending meetings, workshops and other events as required.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Skills & Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Completion of an accredited university or college degree, with a focus on Civil Engineer, water resources or environmental studies;</li><li>Water resources project experience in the public or private sector, particularly with respect to land development;</li><li>Ability to work independently and within a supportive team environment;</li><li>Knowledge of provincial and municipal environmental regulations and guidelines;</li><li>A creative edge and understanding of the gray area between theory and practicality;</li><li>Ability to plan, organize and manage projects, deadlines, and clients;</li><li>Strong analytical skills with knowledge in hydrologic and hydraulic computer modeling platforms, and Excel;</li><li>Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral;</li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and technical writing skills;</li></ul><p>Urbantech welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
