<p>Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for a Crusher Foreman to join our Quarry operations located in Bedford, Nova Scotia.</p><p>Job Summary:<br><br>The Crusher Foremen is responsible for the supervision of production related activities that take place at the Rocky Lake Quarry crusher work site, ensuring the efficient use of human resources, machines and materials. The Crusher Foreman will monitor, oversee and provide reports in relation to personnel, safety, quality and production outcomes. The Crusher Foremen will be responsible for the management of production campaigns, production employees and the proactive enforcement of all required safety and work regulation Policies. All on-site production crews and individuals shall take direction from the Crusher Foremen, who is responsible for assigning work tasks and related duties.</p><p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<br><br>Provide safety leadership and direction ensuring a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all safety Policies and procedures are both respected and closely followed</p><p>Manage the RLQ production team, providing regular and consistent feedback focussed on continuous improvement and the achievement of performance objectives</p><p>Ensure that assigned areas of responsibility are performed as per established outcomes and budgets; ensure effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, equipment and facilities.</p><p>Identify training gaps and ensure proper training is provided based on occupation before tasks are undertaken</p><p>Contribute towards the cost effective maintenance of equipment, including daily equipment safety and maintenance inspections, as well as the timely internal communication of this information</p><p>Assist in the identification of equipment maintenance priorities, resolution of material defects and timely identification of equipment reliability issues</p><p>Work closely with the Operations Superintendent in the preparation of labour and equipment timesheets, as well as established performance measures</p><p>Monitor all production related activities for employee safety and plant environmental compliance. Protect and promote the interest of the company in all matters and take action as necessary in consultation with the Operations Superintendent</p><p>Work closely with the RLQ Operations Superintendent to routinely assess staffing needs, identify and ensure employee developmental opportunities are achieved</p><p>Ensure that material and production quantities are accurately recorded and reported</p><p>Assist in the direction of RLQ Quality Control staff to ensure effective Quality Management processes and procedures are followed and product specifications are fully achieved.</p><p>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:</p><p>5 years experience in crusher environment;</p><p>High attention to detail in completing work tasks;</p><p>Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct;</p><p>Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills;</p><p>High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning;</p><p>Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with all safety policies / procedures;</p><p>Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times;</p><p>Strong understanding of Quality Management production Best Practices</p><p>Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing;</p><p>Able to effectively use a computer to complete daily tasks</p><p>Working safely is a condition of employment.</p><p>Working Conditions:<br><br>The Crusher Foreman role may include physically demanding activities. The Crusher Foreman will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.
