<b>Legal Assistant – Business Law<br></b><br>

<b>Responsibilities:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
Administrative and Secretarial Support<br><br>• Drafting, proofreading, and formatting correspondence, proceedings, agreements, legal opinions, articles, and other legal documents.<br>
<br>• Transcribing documents from handwritten notes, voicemails, or tapes.<br>
<br>• Comparing legal documents using tools such as Workshare.<br>
<br>• Handling phone calls and following up with clients and colleagues.<br>
<br>• Booking travel arrangements (transportation, hotels, restaurants) and coordinating internal or client meetings (including meals).<br>
<br>• Physical and electronic filing of documents.<br>
<br>• Managing emails, printing, and compiling documents for legal professionals.<br>
<br>• Entering, searching, and updating data in OnePlace.<br>
<br>
Legal File Management<br><br>• Opening files and submitting conflict-check requests in internal systems (e.g., NBI).<br>
<br>• Following up on the archiving of inactive files.<br>
<br>• Creating and maintaining binders and working folders.<br>
<br>
Support for Conferences and Training<br><br>• Preparing approval memos, budgets, registrations, and required documents for professional event participation.<br>
<br>• Managing reimbursements and post-event follow-ups.<br>
<br>
Internal and External Collaboration<br><br>• Direct interaction with legal professionals and clients.<br>
<br>• Coordinating with various internal services to ensure smooth daily operations.<br>
<br>
<b>What you will need to succeed:</b><b><br></b>
<br>
<br>• Diploma in legal studies, office administration, or other relevant training.<br>
<br>• 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally in business law.<br>
<br>• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).<br>
<br>• Familiarity with internal legal tools (e.g., Workshare, OnePlace, NBI) is an asset.<br>
<br>• Strong attention to detail, discretion, organizational skills, and customer service.<br>
<br>• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.<br>
<br>• Bilingual French-English, required for drafting documents and communicating with clients and colleagues.<br>
