<p><p>Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Manager, Business Development (TGP Business Development) on a permanent basis, part of the Independent Business team. This hybrid position can be based anywhere in Western Canada and requires up to 50% travel within Western Canada.</p>
<h3>What you’ll do</h3>
<ul>
<li>Identify and pursue new business opportunities and convert prospects into clients.</li>
<li>Increase The Grocery People (TGP) brand visibility by attending industry events, conducting market calls, and building relationships internally and externally.</li>
<li>Analyze industry trends and data to identify improvements, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and present strategic recommendations.</li>
<li>Set and monitor operational standards, support teams with coaching and resources, and provide leadership through training and performance development.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to align strategies, support growth initiatives, and ensure seamless execution across the business.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Who you’ll work with</h3>
<p><strong>The Team:</strong> In addition to direct involvement in business development activities to grow wholesale business, you will lead a team of Sales Leads/Managers to grow sales in their areas of the business and report into the Director, Independent Business. This team strives to cultivate a culture that is collaborative, results‑oriented, and client centric.</p>
<p><strong>The Customers:</strong> You will demonstrate customer focus while identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities that strengthen the business.</p>
<p><strong>Why it matters:</strong> We help feed Western Canada by providing fresh groceries and wholesale solutions to independent retail stores, restaurants and other food establishments in communities large and small.</p>
<h3>Who you are</h3>
<ul>
<li>Have 6+ years of relevant experience in Business‑to‑Business (B2B) sales and/or working with independent retailers.</li>
<li>Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce/business (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).</li>
</ul>
