Role Overview

Reporting to the Director, People Business Partner for Tim Hortons, the Manager, People Business Partner (PBP) supports business leaders across the Tim Hortons brand in Canada by delivering operational execution and people‑focused guidance that drives strong team performance and business results. The Manager provides expertise in organizational design, performance management, workforce planning, and change management to strengthen engagement and effectiveness at the individual, team, and business level. This role plays a key part in translating strategy into action by supporting leaders, enabling talent, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality people practices across corporate functions and corporately owned restaurants.

RBI follows a 5 day, in‑office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week out of our Toronto office.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong business relationships and collaborate with leaders to proactively identify talent gaps, organizational needs, and people‑focused solutions.
  • Partner closely with the Director, People Business Partner to execute core HR initiatives including Talent Assessments, Salary Review, 360 Reviews, and Engagement Action Planning.
  • Support organizational design, including team effectiveness, and change management efforts such as building communication plans for people initiatives.
  • Partner with finance teams to build and manage headcount budgets for assigned client groups and deliver accurate monthly headcount forecasts.
  • Serve as the primary HR partner for all corporately owned Tim Hortons restaurants, providing coaching, performance guidance, and policy interpretation to restaurant leaders.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage recruitment and selection for open roles within assigned client groups.
  • Manage employee relations matters for assigned client groups, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely resolution aligned with employment legislation and company standards.
  • Provide guidance on local employment and labor law where applicable.
  • Manage end‑to‑end onboarding and offboarding processes for all Tim Hortons corporate employees.
  • Execute all people‑related changes in Workday for Tim Hortons corporate employees, ensuring accuracy and data quality.
  • Maintain dashboards and deliver ad‑hoc reporting to support business insights and decision‑making.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive insights, identify trends, and support performance metrics across corporate teams and corporate restaurants.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; CHRP designation an asset.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders, build trust, and navigate complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience supporting both corporate and field‑based teams in a dynamic, operations focused environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Passion for the Tim Hortons brand and for supporting teams who deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience in Workday preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and French, with the ability to support leaders and employees in both languages an asset.

Salary

Base salary range of $100,000 - $120,000. Base salary for this position may vary based on relevant factors such as experience, education, location and skills.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the incentive program, based on individual and company performance metrics. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation in the form of equity grants pursuant to the Company’s long‑term incentive plan.
