About the role
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations, leading a team of supervisors, carpenters, fabricators and trades, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Production Supervisor, Welding Supervisor, fabricators, and carpenters.
- Oversee inventory control, project scheduling, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery of all projects.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and championing safety initiatives.
- Set goals, coach, and manage the performance of the production team.
- Utilize MS Projects and other productivity tools to schedule projects and determine lead times.
- Conduct post-project reviews to assess estimate accuracy, constructability, and quality.
- Communicate project updates to customers and stakeholders.
- Maintain inventory levels, investigate discrepancies, and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported accurately.
- Analyze inventory output to identify and predict demand trends.
- Identify and order project-specific components.
- Review project drawings and assemblies for accuracy and constructability.
- Collaborate with estimators to provide fabrication insights and improve estimate accuracy.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of construction experience, with proven expertise in managing dynamic teams.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scheduling software and production planning.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Industry expertise, with equivalent knowledge or experience in construction.
- Growth mindset and tech-savviness, with a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
