<p><h3>Senior Inclusion Facilitator (March Break Camps 2026) - (25-285)</h3><p>Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means being part of something special, gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. We are looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with persons with disabilities who have a passion to deliver high quality programs, events and services.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Guide participants with disabilities through safe, well‑planned activities in a group setting.</li>
<li>Adapt activities and make modifications to program plans as needed.</li>
<li>Manage behavioural challenges to ensure the safety of participants with disabilities, other participants and staff, occasionally involving physical contact.</li>
<li>Provide personal care of children/youth/adults with disabilities as required, including toileting, changing and feeding.</li>
<li>Communicate with parents/guardians frequently and collaborate with other program staff to resolve issues or concerns.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other program staff and supervisors to discuss program plans, ideas, areas of concern, and participant information (behaviours, interests, triggers, strategies, etc.).</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Post‑secondary studies in recreation, social work, education, Personal Support Worker, recreation therapy or 1–2 years of relevant experience working with children, youth and/or adults in recreational delivery settings including persons with special needs.</li>
<li>Certifications in behaviour management, mental health and addictions an asset.</li>
<li>Ability to participate and assist participants in a variety of recreational activities which may include adapted activities, swimming, skating, and other sports; ability to assist with lifts & transfers.</li>
<li>Ability to deal courteously and effectively with participants, other staff, parents or guardians, participant support teams, as well as the public.</li>
<li>Excellent customer service, communication, leadership and organisational skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons, parents and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.</li>
<li>Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town, Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.</li>
<li>Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required.</li>
<li>Behaviour Management Systems, Safe Management or Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification required.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Please Note:</b> Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.</p>
