<p> Search Group Solutions – Tax Manager</p><p>Job ID: </p><p>Seattle, WA</p><p>Hybrid</p><p>Search Group Solutions is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Tax Manager with deep experience in Canadian tax compliance, provision work, and cross-border tax matters. This individual will support complex Canadian tax processes, collaborate with U.S. and international tax teams, and lead key components of tax reporting, planning, and audit support.</p><p>The position reports to senior tax leadership and plays a major role in overseeing Canada-focused tax cycles, responding to regulatory inquiries, coordinating external advisors, and managing recurring and project-based tax responsibilities.</p><p>This hybrid role can be based out of the Seattle, WA area or the Vancouver, B.C. area.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Canadian Tax Compliance & Reporting</p><p>Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns for multiple entities.</p><p>Manage interim and year-end Canadian tax provisions, including related disclosures and supporting documentation.</p><p>Lead responses to inquiries from relevant tax authorities and assist in managing tax controversy matters.</p><p>Coordinate and supervise external tax service providers engaged in Canadian return preparation.</p><p>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian tax law changes and assess implications for the organization.</p><p>Tax Planning & Advisory</p><p>Provide analysis to support tax planning initiatives, reorganizations, and corporate transactions.</p><p>Participate in due diligence for acquisitions and internal restructurings, evaluating tax implications and identifying opportunities for optimization.</p><p>Research complex tax questions and prepare technical memos, support files, and documentation of tax positions.</p><p>Review business forecasts and contribute to tax modeling and special projects.</p><p>Cross-Functional Collaboration</p><p>Work closely with internal teams including U.S. and global tax groups, accounting, legal, controllers, and business leadership.</p><p>Provide tax insights for operational and strategic decisions, highlighting potential risks and compliance considerations.</p><p>Assist in developing and executing tax planning initiatives and reviewing related legal documents.</p><p>Training & Team Contributions</p><p>Contribute to staff development through knowledge sharing, presentations, and one-on-one guidance.</p><p>Support continuous improvement across tax processes and reporting.</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax or Accounting preferred.</p><p>CPA or Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation required.</p><p>7+ years of income tax compliance and financial reporting experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.</p><p>Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws; exposure to international or cross-border tax matters preferred.</p><p>Technical expertise in income tax accounting, deferred tax calculations, and tax provision work.</p><p>Familiarity with U.S. income tax concepts, ASC 740, and SEC disclosure standards is a plus.</p><p>Excellent organization, analytical skills, data management abilities, and communication skills.</p><p>Experience collaborating across multiple functions and geographic locations.</p><p>Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation).</p><p>Experience with tax software such as OneSource, and tools like Power BI or Alteryx is preferred.</p><p>No direct supervisory responsibilities.</p><p>Work Environment</p><p>Hybrid schedule with at least three days per week onsite (Seattle or Vancouver).</p><p>Office setting with moderate noise levels and consistent computer-based work.</p><p>Compensation</p><p>Seattle, WA (USD)</p><p>$125,000 – $155,000 per year</p><p>Includes eligibility for medical, dental, vision, disability, parental leave (if applicable), paid sick/vacation time, company holidays, bereavement leave, jury duty pay, 401(k) participation, retirement plan eligibility, and discretionary/metric-based bonuses.</p><p>Vancouver, B.C.
